Nepal- Welcome to Our New Constitution

Sep 20, 2015- President Ram Baran Yadav has declared the promulgation of the Constitution of Nepal 2072 amidst a special ceremony at CA Hall, New Baneshwor, and Kathmandu on Sunday. The Interim Constitution has been annulled with the promulgation of new constitution.
President Ram Baran Yadav congratulated the people of Nepal for the new constitution. He said the nearly four-decade-long dream of Nepali people to write the new constitution through democratic process has been realised today. He hoped the new constitution will ensure a sustainable peace and political stability taking the nation on the path of social and economic prosperity.President Yadav expressed his hopes that the republicanism with federalism and proportional representation will further develop in the coming days.Stressing on need for unity among diversity, Prez Yadav said the new constitution will end all kinds of discrimination.

CA building all decked up for the new constitution As the clock is ticking for formal unveiling of the new constitution by President Ram Baran Yadav, grand preparations have been made at the Constituent Assembly (CA) building in Naya Baneshwor, Kathmandu.Many lawmakers have arrived at the CA in their ethnic cultural attires and a large number people have started thronging outside the CA building carrying the national flag.

The ex-lawmakers from previous Constitution Assembly that was dissolved in 2012have also been invited to observe the historic occasion of constitution promulgation. Meanwhile, the Naya Baneshwor area wears a different look today. Only few vehicles are plying on the Baneshwor road section, heavy presence of security personnel in riot-gear can be seen everywhere and a huge mass of people in anticipation of the new constitution can be seen around the Baneshwor area. The Constitution Assembly has been decorated with flowers and garlands to mark the special day.
