Danda Gaon village is situated in Dhading district, which is about 64 kilometers west of Kathmandu. We have crafted this Danda Gaon Village Trek as a typical cultural trek to explore unique local culture and lifestyle the village offers. Danda Gaon consists of about 400 to 500 households which represent the mixed culture of Brahmins, Chhetris, Newar, Magar and other ethnic groups. This unique village not only offers culture but also offers the magnificent views of Ganesh Himal to Langtang Himalayan Ranges.
To begin this trek, we will drive from Kathmandu to Keureni (54 kilometers). We then start our trek to Danda Gaon Village. You can do this trip with fully supported camping or local homestay as well. You will have an opportunity to eat local Dal Bhat and their organically produced vegetables.

Upon arriving in Kathmandu (Tribhuvan International Airport), a Cold Feet representative will meet you and help you transfer to your hotel by private bus. Enjoy a free evening to explore Kathmandu and recover from your jet-lag. Meet the Cold Feet staff during a short pre-tour briefing before dinner.
A full-day guided tour around Kathmandu city's historical and cultural landmarks. Visit Bouddhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple, the most important sites of Buddhism and Hinduism in Nepal. Catch the playful antics of the monkeys and beautiful city views at Swayambunath temple. Get lost in Kathmandu's old city bazaars, public squares, and former royal palaces at Durbar Square.
Awaken early for a 3.5 hour drive from Kathmandu to Dhading District and begin your trekking adventure from Keureni. After a refreshing tea break we cross the Trisuli River via a picturesque suspension bridge then continue at a leisurely pace for approx 2 hours to reach our over-night stay location in Koshi Khola. Lunch of local Dhal Bhat will be served and all baggage will be left in the care of your home stay family as you continue on with the afternoon’s itinerary.
Life in Koshi Khola is typical Nepali rural lifestyle. You will have a chance to get your hands dirty with general farming duties, followed be a refreshing swim and fishing and crabbing in the local river. Once you have emersed yourself into this life.
Our fourth day’s tour will start after breakfast approx. 9 am. Then we continue our trek to Kharka where villagers will greet you with a cultural program including local music and dancing. We will be exploring the government school kids from 4 to 16 years old. You will also be seeing people working in the paddy field.
After a fun filled afternoon you will retrace your journey back to your home stay village destination where your evening meal and a comfortable bed awaits you. Time to relax, spend some time in the local fields, observe a working kitchen, play cards with the locals or just relax and read a book. The choice is yours.
This morning we start at a relaxed pace and spend time enjoying this amazing part of the world. You wake up at approx 8am and enjoy a local breakfast of bread, curry and milk before we say goodbye to our host family, collect our gear and make our way up to our next destination, our school program. Morning activities will be arranged here to embrace your area of expertise.
A packed lunch has been arranged to help us keep moving as we have a 2 hour uphill section of our trek to complete before we reach the local Hindu Temple called Kalika. This is a beautiful photo location opportunity and after you have had a short rest we proceed to the top of the hill (Patal Chuli-2200m) where panoramic views can be seen of some of the best countryside in Nepal as well as amazing mountain views of Ganesh Himal and Langtang Range.Our overnight stay is only a short distance away and similar evening program applies from the previous night.
Today is one of the main highlights of our trip as we head towards one of our main destinations, the Chamere Gufa (Bat Cave). If you are not interested to visit Chamere Gupha, then we will directly trek down to Dhading Besi and drive an hour to our first day of rafting.
For those who are interested to visit Chamere Gupha, we have to add one more day to our trekking. After an early rise and breakfast, we gather our gear and commence a slow uphill climb for 2-3 hours before we reach our caving sight. We take our time to rest and prepare for the experience of a lifetime as we squeeze and curl our way through the intricate caving system. This is a challenging couple of hours and individuals are able to come and go as they please, taking breaks whenever is required to resurface and enjoy the amazing views while sitting and talking under the pine trees. A local spring is available for your drinking and washing needs as inside the cave is a damp, natural environment. Our lunch break will also be taken here in an informal capacity to coincide with the needs of our cavers.
After a short break we will commence our main decent down to Patle where we will spend the night. After you have settled in you will have some free time to discuss the day’s activities, eat and sleep. Your rest will be well deserved.
We arise at a reasonable time approx 8am to pack our bags, have a well-nourished breakfast and continue our trek down the Dhading Besi. This will take approx 4-5 hours so we will be stopping for lunch of Dhal Bhat along the way. For those who are not interested in rafting can go for Kathmandu. From here we say goodbye to our alternate lifestyle and return to the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu in early evening where our trekking Adventure will end.
Those, who are doing rafting, can continue their first day rafting.
Today is going to be the second and final day of our rafting. And after rafting till the half day, we then head for Chitwan. After arriving at Chitwan at approx. 2:30 pm in the afternoon we take Tharu village tour for an hour and half and then in the evening slide presentation about flora and fauna or Tharu culture program.
After having your breakfast, canoe to elephant breeding center to see the baby elephant. While returning back to hotel and before lunch, you can enjoy elephant wash in the Rapti River. In the afternoon, we will be doing Elephant back safari at 3:30pm. Then, in the evening we will enjoy either the cultural dance or slide presentation.
A whole day canoe and jungle walk to Kasara to Ghadagai or all day Jeep drive and walk to Ghadagai.
Ghadagai is the village on the bank of the Rapti river so there are few simple accommodation for one night. It’s an amazing place and you may even get a chance to see wild animals like one horn Asian Rhinoceros and other animals crossing the Rapti River toward to village for their evening meals (crops.)
Breakfast then leave for Kathmandu by tourist bus approx 9:30am and reach Kathmandu around 4:30 pm. In the evening, you will be enjoying the farewell dinner with our team.
