Package Details

Island Peak is also known as Imja Tse, one of the most popular trekking peaks in Nepal for mountain climbing. Our package combines the classic Everest Base Camp Trek with climbing one of Nepal’s best trekking peaks. Well, the combination of Everest Base Camp Trek and Island Peak Climbing is most probably the best trip in Nepal for those who seek adventure here. After visiting Everest Base Camp and walking up to Kalapatthar, we head to Island Peak Base Camp in the next valley. The mountain is seen as an island in a sea of ice from Dingboche. Island Peak not only provides an enjoyable climb but also provides some of the most spectacular scenery of Himalayas in the Everest Region. You can enjoy the giant mountains including Nuptse, Lhotse, Lhotse Middle Peak, and Lhotse Shar from the summit of Island Peak. Apart from this, the beautiful views of Makalu in the east and Baruntse and Amadablam in the south add more charm in this Peak Climbing.

The normal route for climbing Island Peak is South East Flank & South-East Ridge normally. The base camp it set at Pareshaya Gyab between Island Peak and lateral moraine of the Imja Glacier. The Island Peak Climbing would be suitable for a climber visiting the Himalayas for the first time or keen hill walkers with previous mountaineering experience using crampons and ice axe. Actually, Island Peak is a more technical peak than some of the other trekking peaks in Nepal. And it starts with an easy scramble along a rock ridge to a glacier and above there is a steep snow headwall leading to a classic summit ridge. In fact, these views from the top are superb including the south face of Lhotse and Amadablam.

We are sure that this trip is going to be one of your lifelong memories. We have designed the very flexible itineraries with most competitive prices. We will be happy enough if we get a chance to serve you with this Peak Climbing package. We will make your holidays in Nepal worth remembering forever. We cordially welcome you here in Kathmandu.

Today, there is a climb up to the trading town of Namche Bazaar however halfaway up the hill we are rewarded with our first views of Everest and Lhotse. In fact, Namche is the largest town in the Khumbu region and has superb views of Thamserku, Khumbila, and Kwangde. We will stay overnight at Guest House.

This is the very first of two essential acclimatizing days in Namche Bazaar to help your body adapt to the gain in altitude. Today, we take a morning walk up above Namche to the Everest view point. On the way back, we have lunch next to the interesting Sherpa Culture & Everest Mountaineering Museum which is well worth a visit. After that, we return to the lodge and explore around.

Today, we follow the trail high above the Bhote Khosi River through rhododendron forests and then open pasture to the village of Thame. This is a pretty village overlooked by a famous monastery with views of Teng Kangpoche and Kwangde. In the afternoon, we retrace the trail back to Namche and stay there overnight.

After crossing the river at Phunki Tanga, we start the climb through forest to Tengboche. Our lodge at Deboche is 15 minutes’ walk away from Tengboche.

From Dingboche, our trail continues up the valley towards the moraine of the Khumbu glacier and then across the Dughla. At Dughla, the trail goes directly up the terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier before turning left just past the climber and Sherpa memorial. We then descend a little down and follow the western side of the valley to Lobuche.

After an early start, we follow the trail along the western side of the broad Khumbu valley. The conical peak of Pumori soon comes into view which is on a lower ridge of this mountain that we will be going tomorrow for the Everest view point of Kalapatthar. In the afternoon, after having our lunch, we then walk to Everest Base Camp and return back to Gorakshep.

In the morning, we climb up to the summit of Kalapatthar which is definitely worth it for the great views of Everest plus the other Himalayan giants of Pumori, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Changtse. After that, we return to the teahouse at Gorakshep for lunch. We then start our descent and return to the thicker air of Lobuche in the afternoon.
