The Tsum valley trekking is one of the distant and ...
Island Peak is also known as Imja Tse, one of the most popular trekking peaks in Nepal for mountain climbing. Our package combines the classic Everest Base Camp Trek with climbing one of Nepal’s best trekking peaks. Well, the combination of Everest Base Camp Trek and Island Peak Climbing is most probably the best trip in Nepal for those who seek adventure here. After visiting Everest Base Camp and walking up to Kalapatthar, we head to Island Peak Base Camp in the next valley. The mountain is seen as an island in a sea of ice from Dingboche. Island Peak not only provides an enjoyable climb but also provides some of the most spectacular scenery of Himalayas in the Everest Region. You can enjoy the giant mountains including Nuptse, Lhotse, Lhotse Middle Peak, and Lhotse Shar from the summit of Island Peak. Apart from this, the beautiful views of Makalu in the east and Baruntse and Amadablam in the south add more charm in this Peak Climbing.
The normal route for climbing Island Peak is South East Flank & South-East Ridge normally. The base camp it set at Pareshaya Gyab between Island Peak and lateral moraine of the Imja Glacier. The Island Peak Climbing would be suitable for a climber visiting the Himalayas for the first time or keen hill walkers with previous mountaineering experience using crampons and ice axe. Actually, Island Peak is a more technical peak than some of the other trekking peaks in Nepal. And it starts with an easy scramble along a rock ridge to a glacier and above there is a steep snow headwall leading to a classic summit ridge. In fact, these views from the top are superb including the south face of Lhotse and Amadablam.
