Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal is a city filled with attractions waiting to be explored. The Kathmandu Valley, which is made up of Kathmandu, Lalitpur (Patan) and Bhaktapur, is a major destination to explore the ancient history of Nepalese civilization and culture. The whole valley is full of destinations presenting the rich art and architecture as well as the unique lifestyle of people.

When the weather is perfect during spring and autumn seasons, you can get a spectacular view of Ganesh Himal, and its neighboring peaks from Kathmandu valley. The neighboring hills like Chandragiri are best for hiking and enjoying beautiful views of the valley.

The tour starts at the heart of the city, Kathmandu. On the first day, you head to sightsee some of the religious sites like Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, and Boudhanath. These ancient sites are the main stops for Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims.

The next day starts with a trip to Chandragiri. You can enjoy the panoramic views of the city and mountain vistas. You can see various mountains like Langtang, Everest, and even Annapurna from here. Then you head to Kathmandu Durbar Square, one of the three Durbar Squares of the valley. In Kathmandu Durbar Square, you explore famous sites like Hanuman Dhoka and Kumari Residence.

The next stop is another Durbar Square i.e. Patan Durbar Square, which tells grand tales of Malla civilization. After exploring the square, you head to one of the oldest villages of Kathmandu, Bungmati. This village is inhabited by the Newar community and reflects centuries-old culture and architecture.

After exploring Patan, you head to Bhaktapur Durbar Square. You visit landmarks like Naytapola Temple and Pottery Square in the durbar square. Then, you head to Changunarayan temple. Later, you head to Nagarkot to see breathtaking sunset over the valley.

After enjoying the magnificent sunrise view from Nagarkot, you head to the next destination, Dhulikhel. You enjoy the serene views of the Himalayas. Then, you head to the final destination, Namobuddha, where the scared Namobuddha Monastery lies.

Itineraries

Day 1: Arrival

As per your scheduled flight, you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport. Our staff will welcome you and guide you to your designated hotel. Then, you can refresh and rest for a while. If you want to, you can explore the surrounding area around your hotel. At dinner, you will meet your guide who will brief you on the details of the tour.

Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing: Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath landmarks

Today, you will sightsee the major landmarks of Kathmandu city. After having breakfast, you head to the first destination, Pashupatinath Temple, which is a holy site for Hindus. After exploring the sacred place, you head to the next destination, Boudhanath Stupa. After exploring some of the monasteries, you have lunch at a local restaurant. You have time to buy souvenirs and explore the market. Then, you head to the final destination for the day, Swayambhunath. You can enjoy the panoramic views of the valley over sunset. You can also visit the nearby monasteries. You end the day by having dinner at your hotel.

Day 3: Drive to Chandragiri (2,550m) |Chandragiri Excursion and Kathmandu Durbar Square

After an early breakfast, you head to Chandragiri hill, which lies on the west side of Kathmandu. You head to the top of the hill via cable car. From the top, you can see breathtaking panoramas of mountain ranges like Langtang and Ganesh Himal. You can have some refreshments there and soak into the view. Also, visit the Baleshwar Mahadev Temple to offer your prayers. Then you head back via cable car.

Next, you head to Kathmandu Durbar Square. Before starting the sightseeing tour, you have a Newari style lunch. After lunch, you explore the Durbar Square area. Visit places like Nasal Chowk, and Taleju Temple and explore the Ason market as well. The day ends with a nice dinner at your hotel.

Day 4: Patan Durbar Square and Bungmati Excursion

After breakfast, you head to Patan Durbar Square, one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites of the valley. Firstly, visit the Patan Durbar museum and then head on to explore the rest of the surrounding places like Krishna Temple and Mul Chowk.

You will have one hour free to yourself. During this time, you can explore the market and other areas around the durbar square. Then, you can have a Newari style lunch. After that, you head to Bungmati. In this village, you explore the ancient art and architecture. Enjoy the Newari snacks while touring the village. Finally, you head back to your hotel.

Day 5: Drive to Bhaktapur| Excursion, Changunarayan, Nagarkot (2,195m) Sunset/Sunrise

After having breakfast, you head to Bhaktapur and visit another UNESCO World Heritage site, Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Here, you visit religious sites like Vatsala Temple and Naytapola Temple. After visiting the major places, you have an hour to explore Pottery Square and local markets on your own. Then, you enjoy a local lunch at Durbar Square.

The next destination for the day is Changunarayan Temple, which is located atop a small hill. You can see amazing views of Kathmandu Valley from here. Next, you head to Nagarkot and enjoy the sunset. After checking in at the hotel and resting for a while, you head to the view tower and enjoy the magnificent sunset and views of the glorious mountain vistas. Overnight at Nagarkot.

Day 6: Drive to Dhulikhel (1,550m) then Namobuddha (1,750 m) and Excursion

After a hearty breakfast, you head to Dhulikhel. En route, you get to enjoy the views of lush green forests and hills. At Dhulikhel, you stop at a hotel to have a fulfilling lunch. Then you depart for Namobuddha, which takes about 1-2 hours. After checking in at your hotel and refreshing, you head to Namobuddha Monastery. You can explore the peaceful monastery and tranquil views. Finally, you head back to the hotel and have dinner. Overnight at Namobuddha.

Day 7: Kathmandu Back |Farewell

Before noon, you head back to your hotel in Kathmandu. Once you reach your hotel, you check-in and have lunch at a restaurant of your choice. Then, you have free time to explore Kathmandu on your own. You can buy souvenirs or choose to relax at a spa or coffee shop. If you wish to do some shopping, we can recommend some good places. In the evening, you join the staff and guides at the hotel for a farewell dinner.

Day 8: Departure

Today is the last day of the trip. Please check if you have all your belongings with you as we will not be held accountable for the loss of any personal items.
