Langtang Circuit with Ganja La Pass Trek is a glorious journey that offers grand views of glaciers and scenic Langtang Himalayas. Along with the unique Tibetan-influenced culture of Tamang and Sherpas, the trek explores the vast Langtang Valley. The trek makes stops at some of the most famous landmarks in the Langtang Valley including the Kyanjin Gompa. To conclude a brilliant adventure, the circuit trek caps off with an ascent to the top of the Ganja La Pass (5130m).
The Langtang Circuit with Ganja La Pass Trek starts with your arrival at Kathmandu. You can explore the cultural landmarks of the city alongside doing some preparations for the trek. The next day, you head to Sybrubensi where and enter the Langtang National Park. You come across beautiful villages like Rimche and Bamboo where the locals warmly welcome you. Then you visit the Langtang village after passing through Gumanechok and Ghodatabela. The serene Langtang River will guide you to Kyanjin after trekking past Mundu on the way. At Kyanjin, you can visit the old and famous Kyanjin Gompa that is a landmark of the Langtang Valley. From there, you hike to Tserko Ri (4984m) to get magnificent views of Langtang Lirung (7227m) and Langtang Glacier. The next stop is Ganja La Pass (5130m) that gives you more magnificent views of Langtang Lirung (7227m) and the neighboring peaks. The best time for this trip is March-May and September-November because the weather is stable and clear. If you want to avoid crowds, then you can opt to trek during January-February. During these months, the weather gets cold but the trail doesn't get as slippery as it is during the rainy season.

You arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport located in Kathmandu where our company representative will warmly welcome you. Then, the representative takes you to the hotel where you can freshen up.
The second day is allocated for you to enjoy the historic city of Kathmandu. After breakfast, you head to Swayambhunath Temple and then to the Pashupatinath Temple. The next stop is Boudhanath Stupa and having lunch there, you head for the final stop Kathmandu Durbar Square. After completing the sightseeing, you can buy or rent essential items for the trek.
After breakfast, you leave Kathmandu and drive towards Sybrubensi. En route, you can enjoy the views of Ganesh and Gaurishankar ranges on the drive. The drive runs along the Trishuli River to reach Dhunche. Driving further north, you officially enter the Langtang National Park when you reach Sybrubensi.
The trail today crosses the Bhote Koshi River and meets up with Langtang River after a few hours. You trek through rhododendron forest and may get a chance to see some of the endemic animals like wild boar, yellow-throated marten, and red panda. Then you cross a suspension bridge, which leads to Bamboo. Then you ascend to Rimche and reach Lama Hotel.
The trail starts off with a gentle climb and as starts to get steeper as you walk on. You can see the majestic Langtang Lirung (7227 m) en route. You get more amazing views when you reach the meadows at Ghodatabela. From here, the trail goes uphill to Langtang village. Here, you can witness a mix of Tibetan and Tamang communities practicing a Buddhist-influenced lifestyle.
Today, you visit one of the major landmarks in the entire Langtang Valley, Kyanjin Gompa. After breakfast, you hit the short and easy trail that ascends through beautiful rhododendron forest. You get to see a large Mani wall on this part of the trail. You can visit the Kyanjin Gompa after refreshing. There is also a cheese factory that you can explore.
To avoid altitude sickness, this day is separated for you to make yourself familiar with the high altitude. After having an early breakfast, you hike up to Tserko Ri (4984m) to relish the beautiful panorama of Langtang Lirung (7227m) and other mountains in the Langtang range. After enjoying the sublime display of Himalayas, you head back to Kyanjin. You can also visit the Langshisha Kharka or stroll around the Kyanjin Village to acclimatize.
On today’s trail, you can see the rhododendron forest and vegetation getting sparse as you walk on. The trail goes uphill to Ganja-La Phedi and, en route, you see stunning views of mountains in Langtang and Yubra Himal ranges. You stay overnight at Ngegang, which is the pastureland for yaks. You have to set up tents because there are no lodges here.
Today, you head up to Ganja La Pass and start along the trail which is steep and narrow. You come across moraines and icy slopes, which can pose difficulty on the trek. This pass is considered to be one of the difficult passes of Langtang Valley. However, all of your toils will be rewarded with the splendid views of Langtang, Dorje Lakpa, Gaurishankar, and Tibetan Himalayan ranges. After soaking in the view, you descend to Keldang to set up camp for overnight stay.
The trail today descends gradually and ascends at some points. Along the trail, you can enjoy the stunning mountain landscape and the grasslands. En route you see the vegetation start to appear and see rhododendron forest as well. The trail often stretches along the Yangri Danda and also crosses small tributaries on a few occasions. After resting at Yak Kharka, you head to Dhukpu.
After having breakfast and packing up, you head for Tarkeghyang. The trail goes uphill and then descends through rhododendron and pine forests. You can relish the views of Langtang and Dorje Lakpa ranges if the weather is clear. You cross the Yangri Peak and head continues on a trail laded with Chortens and gompas to reach Tarkeghyang. Once you reach Tarkeghyang, you can explore the Sherpa village. The Gekye Gompa, a prominent Buddhist monastery, is also an attraction in the village.
The trail for today is relatively easy as you descend to flatlands and can see streams and signs of the settlement. En route, you can catch glimpses of Jugal Himal ranges. Once you reach Sermathang, a traditional Sherpa village, you can explore the monasteries. From this village, you can enjoy the spectacular views of Jugal, Ganesh, and Langtang ranges as well.
This is the last leg of the trek. You descend to gentler landscapes and enjoy the mountain landscape one last time before you head back to Kathmandu. Then you come to a bridge that leads to Melamchi Bazaar. After having lunch and resting, you catch a ride to Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel.
After a tiring trek, you can enjoy your free time on the last day of the trip. You can do souvenir shopping or relax at a café. If you wish, we can make arrangements to visit nearby towns like Patan, Bhaktapur or Kirtipur. You can also choose to hike or make plans for other activities.

Langtang region offers wide choices of trekking options ranging from 3 days to 3 weeks. However, the two major routes are: Langtang Gosainkunda, Helambu route: It is a moderate level trek route that starts from Kathmandu and ventures towards Sybrubensi. Furthermore, the trek will lead you towards the Kyangin Gompa (a major landmark) and then to Gosainkunda Lake at 4480 meters. Afterward, we will trek down towards Ghopte, Gul Bhanjyang, Chisapani and then back to Sundarijal. Langtang Ganja La trek route: It is also a moderate level trek route that starts from Sybrubensi. The route goes all the way through a Langtang village, Kyanjin Gompa and up towards the Ganja La pass at 5130 meters. From there, we trek down Tarkeghyang, Sermathang, and Melamchi bazar and finally back to the Kathmandu
Autumn (September-November), is regarded as the best season for the trekking in Nepal. The season allows you to experience the beautiful mountains, green hills. Also, the weather is clear with mild to warm days and cold nights. Similarly, spring (March-May) is another the good season for this trek. During this season, you can see the beautiful wildflowers blooming in the jungle, luscious greenery, and sparkling mountains in an excellent background.
Altitude Sickness, also known as Acute Mountain Sickness, is a major issue amongst the trekkers. The Langtang region is located at an extremely high altitude and the trek may take you up to the height of 5000 meters. Due to this, trekkers are highly susceptible to AMS. AMS is a very common sickness and usual symptoms may include dizziness, muscle ache, nausea, headache, vomiting and many more. Similarly, HAPE (High Altitude Pulmonary Edema) And HACE (High Altitude Cerebral Edema) are the extreme forms of AMS which are life-threatening and must be treated in time.
Trekkers must always be cautious regarding the symptoms of altitude sickness and immediately inform the trek leader if the symptoms do appear.
Most of the places in Langtang have solar-generated power or hydroelectricity. So, if you want to charge your camera, cell phone or battery, you can easily get those services. However, you might have to pay an extra sum of money in some cases. On the other hand, it’s safe to carry backups and portable chargers with you. Nonetheless, there are a few places where you can find a reliable internet connection. So, you must buy a Sim Card if you are to trek in the Langtang region.
Langtang Region is famously known for spectacular views of Himalayans like Langtang Lirung (7227m), Ganesh Himal (7422m), Dorje Lakpa (6966m), and other mountains. Similarly, Tamang and Tibetan culture and warm hospitality is also a big attraction to travelers.
