We begin Langtang Tamang Heritage trekking trip from Syabrubeshi, where we can reach with approx. eight hours drive from Kathmandu. Following through Syabru, we then accelerate the trip through Gatlang, and Tatopani and passing through the cultural villages of Thuman and Briddim. The trip also takes you through Lama Hotel, Langtang village and Kyanjin Gompa. After having lots of fun and exploring and enjoying the typical cultural experiences of Langtang region, we wrap up our journey and return back to Kathmandu again.

Itineraries

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, a Cold Feet representative will receive you at Tribhuvan International Airport and help you transfer to your hotel by private vehicle. Enjoy a free evening to explore Kathmandu and recover from jet lag. Meet Cold Feet staffs for a short pre-tour briefing before dinner.

A full-day guided tour around Kathmandu city's historical and cultural landmarks. Visit Bauddhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple, the most important sites in Nepal for Buddhists and Hindus. Catch the playful antics of monkeys and beautiful city views at Swayambhunath temple. Also, take time to disappear in Kathmandu's old city bazaars, public squares, and former royal palaces at Kathmandu Durbar Square.

We start driving in the morning towards Syabrubeshi from Kathmandu today. Witnessing the scenic foothills and ridgeline splendors to Syabrubeshi passing Dhunche, don't miss out to steal the beautiful glimpse of Ganesh Himal and terraced greenery of hills and lush green forests. Everything you encounter during the drive is going to allure you. Upon reaching at Syabrubeshi, we check into the hotel and stay overnight.

Starting from Syabrubeshi, we head towards Gatlang today. We can get to visit the traditional Tamang settlements of Gatland and Goljung, both of which offer the blend of amazing cultural highlights and unique experience making your trip worth remembering forever. We stay overnight at a local guesthouse.

From Gatlang, we make our way up to Tatopani today. En route, you will have enough chances to enjoy the beautiful Langtang massif and Ganesh Himal. Continuing through the trail, we eventually reach the Tamang village of Tatopani. Tatopani offers you the natural hot springs where you can take bath in the lap of mountains. We stay overnight at a local guesthouse.

We leave Tatopani and head for Thuman today. Thuman is obviously another cultural village offering you its Shamanic performances, and rewarding views of Langtang itself. Passing through the Brimdang, we also visit the village of Nagthali where we can explore the monasteries with meditation centers. The fantastic views of some glorious peaks including Langtang, Kerung, Ganesh Himal, and Senjen ranges are worth cherishing. We stay overnight at a local guesthouse in Thuman.

We march ahead to Briddhim from Thuman today. Briddhim is another Buddhist village with majority of ancient Tibetan immigrants. It's the place where you can enjoy the wonderful cultural and traditional glimpse of the Buddhist community.

After having morning breakfast at Briddim, we head towards Lama Hotel. Walking through the Briddim village and observing the local lifestyle and culture and interfacing with the locals, we eventually reach at Lama Hotel. We stay overnight at a local guesthouse.

Our trail continues along the dense forests from Lama Hotel. Making a steady climb up through the valley and enjoying the marvelous views of Langtang Lirung, we head up to Langtang village. We pass by water mills and prayer wheels and sacred mounds of rocks with inscriptions carved on them. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Today is going to be relatively shorter walk but of course, it's adequate for getting used with the climate and the altitude of our journey. We find some very interesting things to explore during today's walk. Don't forget to explore some cheese factories at this village. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Today, it's time for us to get back to Lama Hotel again. But before descending directly to Lama Hotel, you can ascend up to the viewpoint of Tserko Ri (5000m). We then start descending downhill to Lama Hotel. The trail is mostly downhill and it takes approx. four more hours to reach Lama Hotel from Kyanjin Gompa. Following the river and descending downhill through the forest, we eventually pass through the ethnic Tamang settlements of Lama Hotel. We stay overnight at a local lodge.

Today's walk marks the end of our trek. We descend down to Syabrubeshi from Lama Hotel, mostly passing through the lush green forests on the way. We take our lunch at Syabrubeshi and stay overnight at a local guesthouse.

After having the morning breakfast, we drive back to Kathmandu from Syabrubeshi. On arriving Kathmandu, you transfer to your hotel or spend the remaining time for exploring any sights you have missed out during your first day in Kathmandu or you can just choose to go for last minute shopping. You will be joining our farewell dinner in the evening.

Langtang region offers wide choices of trekking options ranging from 3 days to 3 weeks. However, the two major routes are: Langtang Gosainkunda, Helambu route:

It is a moderate level trek route that starts from Kathmandu and ventures towards Sybrubensi. Furthermore, the trek will lead you towards the Kyangin Gompa (a major landmark) and then to GosainkundaLake at 4480 meters. Afterward, we will trek down towards Ghopte, Gul Bhanjyang, Chisapani and then back to Sundarijal.

Langtang Ganja La trek route: It is also a moderate level trek route that starts from Sybrubensi. The route goes all the way through a Langtang village, Kyanjin Gompa and up towards the Ganja La pass at 5130 meters. From there, we trek down Tarkeghyang, Sermathang, and Melamchi bazar and finally back to the Kathmandu

Autumn (September-November), is regarded as the best season for the trekking in Nepal. The season allows you to experience the beautiful mountains, green hills. Also, the weather is clear with mild to warm days and cold nights. Similarly,spring (March-May) is another the good season for this trek. During this season, you can see the beautiful wildflowers blooming in the jungle,luscious greenery, and sparkling mountains in an excellent background.

Altitude Sickness, also known as AcuteMountain Sickness, is a major issue amongst the trekkers. The Langtang region is located at an extremely high altitude and the trek maytake you upto the height of 5000 meters. Due to this, trekkers are highly susceptible to AMS. AMS is a very common sickness and usual symptoms may include dizziness, muscle ache, nausea, headache, vomiting and many more. Similarly, HAPE (High Altitude Pulmonary Edema) And HACE (High Altitude Cerebral Edema) are the extreme forms of AMS which are life-threatening and must be treated in time.

Trekkers must always be cautious regarding the symptoms of altitude sickness and immediately inform the trek leader if the symptoms do appear.

Most of the places in Langtang have solar-generatedpower or hydroelectricity. So, if you want to charge your camera, cell phone or battery, you can easily get those services. However, you might have to pay an extra sum of money in some cases. On the other hand, it’s safe to carry backups and portable chargers with you.Nonetheless,there are a fewplaces where you can find a reliable internet connection. So, you must buy a Sim Card if you are to trek in the Langtang region.

Langtang Region is famously known for spectacular views of Himalayans like Langtang Lirung (7227m), Ganesh Himal (7422m), Dorje Lakpa (6966m), and other mountains. Similarly, Tamang and Tibetan culture and warm hospitality is also a big attraction to travelers.
