Shivapuri Hike is  in the Shivapuri National park in a close distance from Kathmandu city. Shivapuri Hiking is filled with the glorious view of the Langtang Himalayan ranges, pleasant walk in the woods, and a relaxing bird’s-eye view of the Kathmandu Valley. The hiking also gives the opportunity to visit the Nagi Gompa monastery, Bagdwar (the original source of Bagmati River), and explore the flora and fauna of the national park. The hike concludes at the top of the Shivapuri Hill which offers a beautiful view of mountains and surrounding landscapes.

The Shivapuri Hiking trip begins with an early morning drive from Kathmandu. We cross the ring road and head north towards Budhanikantha. Here, you can find the statues of a sleeping Lord Vishnu, one of the three main deities in Hindu mythology. After spending some time at Budhanikantha, we begin the hike towards Shivapuri. The trail then follows the path through forests of rhododendron and pine leading to the beautiful hill of Shivapuri.  After buying the ticket to enter the Shivapuri National park, we pass through the forests and fresh air to the height of Shivapuri Hill. We can take a detour on the trip and visit the Nagi Gompa monastery and Bagdwar. The grassland of Suryachaur is pleasant in itself and the hiking rewards with a mesmerizing walk through the woods. The bird-eye view of Kathmandu valley can be seen from Shivapuri Hill, which is photogenic and amazing. After relaxing with the great view of Langtang Himalayan range, we descend down to Budhanikantha following the same trail and head back to the hotel in Kathmandu. The Shivapuri Hiking is suitable for any season but is best done during spring and autumn.
